Drop-off Donations Currently On Hold

As we prepare for the move to our new home, all clothing donations will be on hold beginning March 1, 2023. No clothing donations will be accepted at our current location (678 Front Ave NW) or our future location (816 Madison SE) beginning March 1, 2023. We will resume clothing donations once our new and improved Business Boutique has opened! We appreciate your patience and willingness to donate clothing.

We accept clothing appropriate for job interviews. We ask that clothing donations be:

  • current in style (3 years old or less)
  • clean and in excellent condition
  • current season

For the business boutique, we look for:

  • 2 piece suits
  • Blazers
  • Shoes
  • Purses, totes, portfolios
  • Dress pants
  • Blouses
  • Jewelry
  • Skirts
  • Lightweight cardigans/sweater sets
  • Coats (in season)

*Note that we can only accept brand new bras and hosiery.

For our New Beginnings program, we accept in-season casual clothing:

  • Tops and sweaters
  • Pants
  • Active wear
  • Casual dresses
  • Shoes
  • Jackets
  • Sports bras
  • Pajamas
  • Undergarments and socks

*Note that we can only accept brand new bras and hosiery.

Is this appropriate for the boutique?

Ask yourself, “Would I wear this to a job interview?” If the answer is “No,” we recommend you donate those articles to other worthy organizations. See below for a list of alternate donation recipients.

If we receive like new clothing that is not appropriate for the workplace, we send those items to a women-owned consignment shop to sell. The proceeds we receive are used to purchase brand new bras for our participants and to cover the other costs associated with the operation of the boutique.

More Donation Options

There are numerous worthy nonprofits in the metro G.R. area who would gladly accept those items that we are unable to accept. Below are a few suggestions. We know these organizations well and appreciate their partnership in the work they do to further the empowerment of women and their families in West Michigan.
