Please call to schedule a drop-off appointment at 616-458-5443. We kindly ask that you do not drop-off clothing without an appointment. Please do not leave any clothing donations at the door or anywhere around the building.

We accept clothing appropriate for job interviews. We ask that clothing donations be:

  • current in style (3 years old or less)
  • clean and in excellent condition
  • current season

For the Business Boutique, we look for the following in season items in both Men’s and Women’s styles:

  • Blouses
  • Button-Up Shirts
  • Plain Cotton T-Shirts/Tank Tops
  • Business Suits
  • Dress Pants
  • Skirts
  • Ties
  • Headscarves, Hijabs, Turbans
  • Dress Socks
  • Purses, Totes, Briefcases
  • Jewelry, Watches, Belts, Cufflinks, Pocket Squares

*Note that we can only accept brand-new bras and hosiery

While we strive to provide clothing that meets the needs of our participants, some items may be redirected for other purposes, including supporting our mission and operations. This includes clothing sent to a women-owned consignment shop, where the proceeds help us purchase brand-new bras for our participants and cover essential operational costs. Additionally, items that don’t meet the needs of our participants may be directed to other important community organizations.

We want our community to know that every donation is part of a thoughtful, sustainable process designed to maximize its impact.

Is this appropriate for the boutique?

Ask yourself, “Would I wear this to a job interview?” If the answer is “No,” we recommend you donate those articles to other worthy organizations. See below for a list of alternate donation recipients.

If we receive like new clothing that is not appropriate for the workplace, we send those items to a women-owned consignment shop to sell. The proceeds we receive are used to purchase brand new bras for our participants and to cover the other costs associated with the operation of the boutique.

More Donation Options

There are numerous worthy nonprofits in the metro G.R. area who would gladly accept those items that we are unable to accept. Below are a few suggestions. We know these organizations well and appreciate their partnership in the work they do to further the empowerment of women and their families in West Michigan.
