Dear Friends of the Women’s Resource Center,

Over the past year, our organization has been in a season of change and, like any organization
that has weathered fifty years of service, some of those changes have challenged us to reflect, re-center, and recommit to the heart of our mission.

Leadership transitions are never easy, and we acknowledge that the past year has not brought the clarity or momentum we had hoped for. While we are grateful for the dedication of those who have served, it’s also important to recognize when a new direction is needed. The Board of Directors has made the decision to appoint new executive leadership, and we do so with a deep sense of responsibility to our staff, our community, and most importantly, the women we serve.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Darlene Lee, whose passion, experience, and bold vision will guide WRC into its next chapter. Already, she has begun meeting with staff and board members to set a strong foundation for strategic planning and collective impact.

I want to personally share that this decision was not made lightly. As Board Chair, and as someone who cares deeply about the mission and people of this organization, I feel the weight of it. But I also feel tremendous hope. Because what hasn’t changed, what remains our true north, is our belief in the potential of every woman who walks through our doors.

This work is too important not to get right. So, with humility and conviction, we move forward.

On behalf of the Board and staff, thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. We’re honored to serve this community, and we’re committed to doing so with renewed focus, integrity, and care.

With gratitude,

Roya Bruce
Chair, Board of Directors
