Grand Rapids, MI, December 2025 — Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Darlene Lee as its permanent Chief Executive Officer, following her time as Interim CEO.

Since stepping into the interim role, Dr. Lee has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep commitment to WRC’s mission, and an ability to build meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and the community. Her leadership has reinforced the organization’s vision and renewed momentum toward strategic growth and stability.

“During her tenure as Interim CEO, Darlene has earned the full confidence of the Board,” said Roya Bruce, Chair of the Board of Directors. “She has brought clarity, energy, and strategic focus at a pivotal moment for WRC. We are thrilled to remove the ‘interim’ title and formally welcome her as CEO as we continue building our team and expanding our impact.”

Dr. Lee brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit and educational leadership, with expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and equity-driven initiatives. As permanent CEO, her focus will be on strengthening staff capacity, deepening donor engagement, and advancing WRC’s long-term strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors.

“This organization changed the trajectory of my life,” said Dr. Lee. “WRC helped me land my first job, and now it is an incredible honor to lead the organization that helped launch my career. I’m deeply committed to building and strengthening our team and ensuring WRC continues to be a trusted resource for women in West Michigan for decades to come.”

With Dr. Lee’s appointment, WRC looks forward to a new season of stability, growth, and mission alignment. This leadership transition marks a foundational step in the organization’s continued focus on delivering high-quality programming and walking alongside women on their journeys to employment and economic independence.
