Grand Rapids, MI, July 2025 — Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is entering a new chapter of leadership with the appointment of Dr. Darlene Lee as its Interim Executive Director.
Lee brings 20 years of experience in nonprofit and educational leadership, with a strong background in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, change leadership, and equity-focused initiatives. A seasoned leader known for her ability to align organizational vision with
mission-driven goals and to implement strategies that deliver measurable outcomes, Lee is well-positioned to lead WRC into its next phase of growth and community service.
Her first priorities include supporting staff, strengthening partnerships, and collaborating with the Board of Directors on strategic planning. Two board-led planning sessions are already scheduled for August 1 and August 15.
“In today’s complex economic and social landscape, nonprofit leadership requires clarity, collaboration, and courage,” said Roya Bruce, Chair of the WRC Board of Directors. “We’re confident that Darlene brings exactly that. This is a moment of renewal for the Women’s Resource Center, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
“I’m honored to join the Women’s Resource Center at such a pivotal time,” said Lee. “This organization has long been a force for equity and empowerment in West Michigan, and I look forward to working with the board, staff, and community to build a bold and sustainable path forward for the women we serve.”
The Board of Directors thanks the previous Executive Director, Trudy Ender, for her service and wishes her well in her future endeavors.
