Since 1987, the Women’s Resource Center has recognized West Michigan employers who are leading the way in creating equitable, inclusive, and supportive workplaces for women. The Pillar Awards celebrate organizations that don’t just talk about opportunity — they build systems and cultures that allow women to thrive.

This inspiring luncheon brings together business leaders, community partners, and advocates who believe that investing in women strengthens families, workplaces, and our entire region.

The Pillar Award is West Michigan’s only prestigious business award dedicated to recognizing employers who empower women through progressive, inclusive, and innovative workplace practices.

Created by the Women’s Resource Center, this award shines a spotlight on organizations — including small businesses — that are setting the standard for recruitment, retention, and advancement of women within an inclusive culture. Just as importantly, it encourages other employers to learn from and replicate best practices that strengthen the entire workforce.

We invite local employers to apply if your organization demonstrates leadership in areas such as:

• Work–life balance practices

• Mentoring and networking initiatives

• Progressive and comprehensive benefits

• Creating pathways into nontraditional careers for women

• Professional development and advancement programs

• Opportunities for women facing barriers to employment

• Hiring and retention practices that support diversity and inclusion
